UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan strongly condemned the continued Iranian missile and drone attacks on the United Arab Emirates, describing them as “treacherous and terrorist acts” targeting civilians and vital infrastructure.
He expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, including nationals from Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, who were killed as a result of the recent strikes. He also wished a swift recovery for all those injured.
Condemnation of Escalation
The UAE foreign minister denounced the ongoing campaign of attacks, which has continued for over 18 days, involving:
• More than 2,000 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones
• Targeting of civilian areas, airports, and critical infrastructure
He described the attacks as a serious and blatant escalation, constituting a violation of UAE sovereignty and a direct threat to regional and international security.
International Response
The minister highlighted that the attacks have been widely condemned by the international community, referencing a UN Security Council resolution (2817) supported by 136 countries, calling for:
• An immediate and unconditional halt to the attacks
• Holding Iran fully responsible for the damages and losses inflicted
He also praised the strong global solidarity shown toward the UAE, emphasizing the country’s long-standing diplomatic ties and international partnerships.
Right to Self-Defense
The UAE reaffirmed its full right to defend itself under international law, stating it will take all necessary measures to:
• Protect national sovereignty
• Ensure the safety of citizens and residents
• Safeguard national infrastructure
Security Readiness
Officials stressed that all relevant authorities remain on high alert, with security and defense systems operating at the highest levels of readiness.
Despite the ongoing threats, the minister assured that the overall security situation across the UAE remains stable, with strong institutional coordination ensuring public safety.
He concluded by affirming that these attacks will not deter the UAE from maintaining its security, stability, and commitment to protecting everyone living within its borders.
