China’s “Assault Hawk”: PLA Unveils New Z-20T Attack Helicopter Variant

China’s rapidly modernizing military has officially revealed a new and formidable asset for its ground forces: the Z-20T, a heavily armed attack and assault variant of its Z-20 medium-lift utility helicopter. The emergence of this new gunship, which appears to be conceptually similar to the U.S. Army’s MH-60L Direct Action Penetrator (DAP), provides the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) with a powerful new tool for air assault operations and significantly enhances its combined arms capabilities.
